Volunteer Activity Descriptions

All of our volunteers have the opportunity to help in one or more of these GRM Program Areas performing any of the following activities:

Classroom Instruction & Tutoring: CALLING ALL TEACHERS !!! We are looking for volunteers who have 2 or more years as an Educator and can teach anything from math and reading, to GED Prep and work readiness skills. An volunteer who is looking for teaching opporutnities outside the classroom, volunteering at the GRM Institute is for you! Volunteers who have experience in Education and Occupational Therapy would benefit from this opportunity. Volunteers who tutor the clients will work in a classroom setting in the GRM Institute in groups or one-on-one on topics such as resume building, basic math, reading, writing, computer skills, art threapy life skills, interview skills and kinesthetic learning.

Donor Management Assistance: GRM is blessed to have many faithful donors over the 103 years in DC, and as a token of our appreciation we acknowledge our donors every day, every one of them! Volunteers would help the Donor Management Associate with this task in a variety of ways from adminstrative assistance to acknowledgement preparation.

Meal Servers: Lunch and dinner, your help is greatly appreciated in our Culinary Department. No experience is necessary here... just an open heart and a big smile!

Event Planning/Fundraising: Gospel Rescue Ministries is involved with a lot of events and activities to promote homeless awareness and to promote the services that we offer. Your help with these activites would include, mailing out flyers to our supporters, preparing brouchures for distribution, and even helping at some of our events.
