Help the Homeless Walkathon
For more than 20 years, Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless Program has brought together caring and committed individuals to work toward preventing and ending homelessness in our region. This year, it is estimated that there are nearly 12,000 people in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area who are homeless. Together, we can help solve this issue. All it takes is a few hours of your time. Please join tens of thousands of your neighbors for the 21st Annual Help the Homeless Walkathon. Help the Homeless Registration Brochure

More information can be found in the Partner Brochure.
Fannie Mae Mini-Walks
Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless Program also invites schools, community-based organizations, and faith-based organizations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia to host mini-walks. These walks primarily engage young people, teachers, staff, parents, and other adults connected to the schools. (Student subgroups — such as a choir or a soccer team — are not eligible to host mini-walks.)
Fannie Mae will waive the mini-walk registration fee for all students attending DCPS or Public Charter Schools in the District of Columbia. Schools planning to hold a mini-walk must send in a mini-walk commitment form at least two weeks before the planned walk and no later than October 24, 2008. Fannie Mae’s Help the Homeless Program pairs each school with a beneficiary organization that works with its assigned school to plan and conduct mini-walks and educational presentations.
More information on registering your school for the Mini-Walk can be found on the
