Get Involved
There are many ways that you can help us in our ministry. If your desire is to partner with us on a regular basis, or for a shorter time commitment; if you’d like to donate items, services, or make a financial contribution, we would greatly appreciate your support. Every bit of help we receive from you helps us increase our programs and make them more effective. Thank you!
Volunteer Guidelines
The purpose of the GRM Volunteer Program is to mobilize volunteers for the purpose of aiding GRM in its efforts, participating with clients and staff at all levels to transform the lives of the homeless and the addicted of Washington, DC.
Gospel Rescue Ministries will seek to provide opportunities for individuals, local churches, and the community to use their gifts and resources in all of our ministries to serve our clients under the direction and at the discretion of GRM leadership. Involvement of volunteers allows us to reach many more in need, enables us to accomplish ministry at reduced cost, and gives us the opportunity to train those joining us in the strategies that are being successfully applied to meet community needs. One of the primary ways our ministry can grow is through the increased involvement of volunteers.
Volunteers are viewed as valued partners in the ministry of GRM. They are valuable resources to GRM, its staff, and its clients. Volunteers shall be extended the right to be given meaningful assignments, the right to be treated as equal co-workers, the right to effective supervision, the right to full involvement and participation in their ministry area, the right for recognition for work done, and the right to be considered and included in decision making processes. Staff managing volunteers will learn to translate the mission of GRM through volunteer assignments, recognizing and communicating the impact and significance in every task.
GRM involves only adult volunteers (18 or older) as individuals. Minors can be involved as part of youth groups with adult supervision, and as families serving with their parents.
To join the Volunteer Program, please see our volunteer opportunities.
